When customers visit the Gemklip Design Store at Kamanahalli, we want them to leave with a new experience. A feeling of excitement that makes them want to return again, maybe even with a few friends. This depended, to a great extent, on the interiors and store decor.

Achieving this result and at the same time, avoiding lame shopping gimmicks, would be a challenge. After a few brainstorming sessions, we settled on an idea that we taught would work.
What did we do?
Our new store decor was inspired by the classic crossword. On long strips of card suspended from the ceiling, we had hints printed on one side and blanks on the other side. Customers would walk around the store, trying to crack the hints and get answers to the crossword. For every answer they get right, they are eligible for a discount coupon, which they blindly pick from a basket. These coupons double up as cute bookmarks.

How did it help?
The footfall in the store seemed to increase soon after the game was in place, which proves that with a little creative thinking, it easy to capture attention.
This idea seemed to impress because the customers left with a feeling of superiority, as they were able to crack the hint and get a discount in the process. It was a win-win situation.
The tactic seemed to work incredibly well, with customers coming back to claim discounts, bringing their friends along, and even posting reviews on social media.
